Route 226 connects Balcarce to others counties in the West part of the Buenos Aires Province and also La Pampa Province and other provinces in the Cuyo region. From the very west point of the province, this road crosses the cities of General Villegas, Carlos Tejedor, Pehuajó, Bolivar, Olavarria, Azul and Tandil.
